HygieneScout (hygienescout.co.uk) displays food hygiene rating data published by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the FSA or any local authority.
Food hygiene ratings displayed on this site are sourced from the FSA API and are provided as-is. While we update our data daily, we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Ratings reflect the standards found at the time of the most recent inspection and may not reflect current conditions.
Insights, summaries, and trend analysis shown on this site are computed from FSA rating data and reflect snapshots in time. They are not endorsed by the FSA and should not be treated as official food safety assessments. Trend descriptions such as “improved” or “recently inspected” reflect data captured on the date shown and may change at the next inspection.
Some establishments in the FSA database may have closed, changed ownership, or been re-inspected since the data was last updated. For the most current rating, check the official FSA website or contact the local authority directly.
Food hygiene rating data is published by the FSA under the Open Government Licence v3.0. This permits free use, adaptation, and redistribution with attribution. HygieneScout attributes the FSA as the data source on every page.
The information on HygieneScout is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute food safety advice, health advice, or any other form of professional guidance. A high hygiene rating does not guarantee the absence of risk, and a low rating does not necessarily mean food is unsafe to eat at the time of your visit.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HygieneScout shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from the use of or reliance on information provided on this site. This includes but is not limited to decisions made about where to eat, food safety incidents, or business reputation impact.
Business names, addresses, and ratings are public data published by the FSA. If you are a business owner and believe your listing contains an error, please contact your local authority — they are responsible for updating the FSA database. For other queries, see our contact page.
