What is it?
The HygieneScout embed widget is a small badge that shows your business's current food hygiene rating. It pulls directly from Food Standards Agency data and updates automatically whenever your rating changes. No manual updates needed.
It works on any website platform: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, or plain HTML. If you can paste a snippet of code, you can add it.
How to add it to your site
It takes about 30 seconds:
- Find your business on our embed page. Search by name and select your listing from the results.
- Copy the embed code. It's a single line of HTML that appears below the preview.
- Paste it into your website. Add it to your homepage, contact page, footer, or wherever makes sense. The badge is an iframe that adapts to its container.
You can also find the embed option on any establishment page on HygieneScout. Look for the "Embed this rating" button.
Why display your rating?
Research from the Food Standards Agency shows that hygiene ratings influence where people choose to eat. Displaying yours online does a few things:
